Apply for The Riff Raff Mentoring Scheme

Applying for The Riff Raff Mentoring Scheme is as easy as 1-2-3... Handy to remember as there are three, simple steps to go complete...

Step 1: Submit your writing sample

All applicants must submit an 1,000 word writing sample to give us a better idea of your work and who you are.

Your sample should be an extract from a book you're already working on and that you want help with.

Step 2: Submit your book synopsis

We all hate having to sum up our writing baby in 500 meagre words but it's an inevitable evil in order submit your book for publication, so when better to do it then now? In no more than 500 words, please give us an overview of your entire story, with a clear idea of how the narrative and characters develop.

Step 3: Choose your Mentor

List your three preferred Mentors in the form below, starting with the Mentor with whom you'd most like to be paired. Do your research - whose published books are most similar to yours? Who is best served to help you given your writing style, idea, aims and ambitions.

Please note: We do our best to pair all Mentees with their top choice. If we aren't able to do this, or your top choice is unavailable due to commitments, we'll turn to the other Mentors on your list. If we believe that there is a Mentor best-served to help you, that you haven't identified, we will contact you to discuss this. We want you to get the most from this scheme, so who you are paired with is vital. You'll find more information on how and why we pair Mentors and Mentees here

You're now ready to submit!

Once you have submitted your writing sample and chosen your Mentors, we will come back to you within 30-days to let you know if you have been successful.

For any applicants who don't make it through on this occasion, we will be in touch to provide information regarding services that will better suit your needs and to provide feedback for if you wish to apply again at a later date.
