Farewell for now...

Hello lovely Riff Raffers!

I want to apologise for the radio silence over the last few months. As I’m sure you can understand, it has been a weird time. I am sorry that I wasn’t able to continue supplying you with useful content during lockdown – I needed a break!

I have some news....After much soul searching, I’ve decided to stop both the live events and the podcast for the foreseeable future. One thing that lockdown made me realise is that although running The Riff Raff has been an incredible experience and significant learning curve, it is a lot of work and has stopped me from pursuing my own writing. For now, that is what I want to concentrate all my efforts on. I hope you understand.

I want to thank you for being a part of the community, whether you’re an author, aspiring author, book publicist or book lover. Thank you for attending the events and listening to the podcast. It wouldn’t have been what it was without curious, ambitious, inspiring people writing and engaging with the content. I was running through a few stats this morning and since The Riff Raff started in 2017 we have hosted 28 events featuring 140 authors, and created 81 podcasts which have received over 50,000 listens in 35 countries, even in places as far afield as Ukraine, Nepal, Cuba and Pakistan! Can you believe it! Thank you for your contribution to that.

I’m so proud of what The Riff Raff has achieved. Although I can’t say for certain whether this is goodbye for good, it is goodbye for now. Who knows what the future may bring…

All of our valuable content remains online, so whether you’re an old timer or new to The Riff Raff community, there is plenty for you to delve into and learn from, so have a good look around!

One important point - our mentoring and manuscript shakedowns are still happening, so if you’re interested in working with a published author, you still can! Visit the website to check out our roster of published authors, or drop me an email at oi@the-riffraff.com to get the ball rolling.

I wish you luck your writing and lives and I hope that we meet again, or for the first time at some point in the future when we’re allowed to be proper functioning humans again!

All the love.

Amy xx
